The NSC PRELUDIUM BIS 5 grant for Professor Kamilla Malek

The National Science Center has announced the results of the fifth edition of the PRELUDIUM BIS competition. In the current edition, 43 projects have been selected and will receive a total funding of almost PLN 26 million. We are pleased to announce that among the winners of the competition is Prof. Kamilla Malek from the Raman Imaging Group of the Jagiellonian University's Faculty of Chemistry, who, thanks to the grant of PLN 687 311, will carry out a project entitled “Plasmon-enabled chemistry through hybrid materials and light conversion in surface-enhanced spectroscopy”.

The PRELUDIUM BIS 5 competition is addressed to institutions running doctoral schools, and it aims to support the education of PhD students and to cover the expenses of the PhD projects. As part of mobility support, students must complete a foreign internship lasting from 3 to 6 months and funded by The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

The PRELUDIUM BIS project manager is the doctoral thesis supervisor, while PhD students are selected in open competitions. An important change in this edition of the competition is the abolition of the requirement to obtain a doctoral degree by a student who implements a grant as a condition for project settlement.

PRELUDIUM BIS projects may be planned for 36 or 48 months. The scholarship for a PhD student is PLN 5,000 per month until the mid-term evaluation is carried out, then it increases to PLN 6,000 per month. The project budget can include also, e.g.: funds for the project manager, for materials and small equipment, external services, business trips, visits, consultations, gratuities for collective contractors.

Our sincere congratulations!

The full list of qualified projects is available on the NSC website.
