Nitrous oxide has been recognized as one of the most important greenhouse gases with a lifetime of 150 years in the atmosphere, and the global warming potential 310 times higher than that of CO2. It contributes also to destruction of the ozone layer in the stratosphere. Decomposition of N2O into N2 and O2 is, therefore, a subject of continuous intensive investigations.
The scientific programme of the KRAcat-deN2O workshop will be organized around the catalytic chemistry of N2O abetment with the focus on the theoretical and experimental investigations ranging from fundamental mechanistic understanding, development and characterization of innovative catalytic materials up to their applications for the environmental protection, as well as new developments in catalytic processes. In particular we invite multidisciplinary and integrating aspects of catalytic deN2O science and technology.
