Minister of Science and Higher Education Piotr Wieczorek awarded scholarships to 228 outstanding young scientists. According to the Ministry of Science, the competition received 1,708 scholarship applications. They were assessed by a team of advisors who evaluated the applications for the scholarships awarded by the Minister of Higher Education and Science to students and outstanding young scientists using the point method - within individual disciplines of science and art. The selection of candidates for the scholarships was based on the principle of equality between the scientific and artistic disciplines, which consists in awarding a similar number of scholarships in each discipline. Thus, young scientists competed with each other within a given discipline, not the entire field.

We are pleased to announce that among the 16 distinguished young researchers of the Jagiellonian University there is Dr. Łukasz Woźniak from Stereocontrolled Organic Synthesis Group of the Organic Chemistry Department.

Scholarships are awarded for a period of 3 years and amount to PLN 5,390 per month. They are paid to the young scientists by the institutions that applied for them.
